Why I'm writing this thing in digital marketing articles?

The short answer is: yesterday(10 jul, 2023) I met two guys from UCMS college, hunting for dentist patients. After they left, in my mind, the marketing approach was buzzing.

Yesterday(2023 July 10), two guys came on a bike, hunting for dentist patients for their practical exam from UCMS College.

Me and my father were sitting outside on the street. They approached us and said, we are students from medical college UCMS & we are seeking dentist patients for practical exams. We will check & treat all your teeth-related problems for free.

My father said to them, there are a lot of people in this area that need teeth-related treatments but most of them won't agree to come. They ask why, and my father said, they feel insecure, hesitate & fear to get treatment from fresh students.

It's a matter of health-related issues, especially teeth. That's why people are more concerned to get treated by students from UCMS. Imagine instead of this, you invite people to dinner at UCMS college. What do you think?

On the spot, one of them checked my father's tooth & ask about his condition. The guy said, you should come to the hospital & my father said, I will consult with my family.

I live nearby UCMS College, and I have seen a lot of medical students hunting patients for their practical exams. I'm a student too in the digital advertising space. So I thought let me lay down some thought processes on how to convince & approach people.

Once one of my school friends from UCMS college visited my home with 2 girls & 1 boy for a children's health condition survey & he took the information of my aunty children.

This guide will demonstrate the importance of communication skills and how to convince patients for your practice exams from your nearby location.

now let's begin:-

Case-1: You are trying to find patients & convince for treatments for free.

Let me explain some points that came to my mind when those two guys left me

* At the beginning of the conversation, don't mention we will do free checkups & treatment. This leads to pop-up buzzwords in their mind. They will think, you are trying to catch fish by stating free service/treatment. We will discuss when you should say these things & how?

* The second point is bad timing.

* Make sure they are ready to listen to you. Ask if they have 5-7 mins to listen to your offer & how you do it.

Now let me present to you, How I will do that If I was there as a dental student.

* Start with good timing & place: If you want to address individual houses, visit in the morning & if you want to address in a group, visit chowks & public places where there is gathering especially when the sun is setting. Also, you can visit a tea shop in the area in the morning time, where you can talk to a group of people.

* Make sure they are ready to listen: Ask 5-7 mins to address what you are looking for, why & how you'll do this treatment.

* Greet them & speak in a language that they can grasp like Hindi most people understand besides English & Nepali.

* From the team members, one should know very well on how to present & answer questions within 7mins around. You see nowadays people like short-form speech & content because of TikTok, youtube shorts & Facebook reels. Make your speech concise & short.

let's take an example, you & your team are looking for 5 dental patients. So what should you include in your speech & how to address them?

Below are the main points that you need to consider:

  • Start by greeting & introduce yourself, offering & how will you provide treatment. like Hello, we are dentist students & we are seeking dental patients for checkups & treatment. If someone likes to get treated, register their name & phone number in copy.
  • before someone asks is it free? Is it safe, because you guys are fresher? What if something goes wrong? You should address this issue yourself immediately after the introduction. Like:
  • We know most people feel afraid & hesitate to get treated by fresher doctors because it's a matter of health condition & we don't negate that.To answer this question, you should have an answer that goes inline with your college/university goals. What I suggest is that:you should tell them: I know your concerns about health treatment by freshers but there is more than that. And we will explain to you just listen:
  • I & my team members will do treatment under senior doctors. So there will be no issue for you to stretch your mind about mistakes. second tell them, if you visit other clinics & hospitals, there you'll find assistant doctors with senior doctors whose job is to involve in treatments under senior doctors to gain experience. This is what we also do, there will be senior doctors who will assist us & direct us. Once you tell them these things, they may feel safe & secure to come to hospitality to get free treatments.
  • Remember what you said above fulfill it, you must have senior doctors along with you otherwise don't lie and cheat general people.

Tip: If the college/university doesn't provide experienced doctors with you then conduct a meeting with authority & share your issue with solutions. If they don't allow it, well you can hire outsiders, just pay some amount. You need to do these things in order to get the task done.

Now you can take questions from people & answer accordingly. Make sure you try to remove the doubts about safety & security.

If possible offer nrs500/- per patient as a reward. I'm very sure you have already spent a lot of money on your study so spending nrs500/- is not a big deal.

This is how you should address these questions.

To be honest, the reputation of the hospital also matters. If students from eye hospital come & they want patients for their exams. Most of them will go with them.

Case-2: Just started your medical study or you are in the middle of your study

  • Build Links: Medical degrees & awards is not enough to handle patients. At the end of the day, treatment start with communication & interaction with patients. So from the very start build links within your area with general people so that in future they can trust you & that would be very easy to convince them for free treatments. Make good relationship with people in your areas, those people, where a matter of peoples is discussed like a politician, locality honorable people
  • Improve communication skills: People can forget everything about you but behavior is such type of manner that people remember all time. English, Hindi & Nepali are widely spoken in Asia countries like Nepal, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, SriLanka
  • Understand how your college can help you in these exams
  • Read case studies of your previous batch & extract useful information
  • Be updated: Your universities/college may not be able to provide every update on medical surveys, studies, or research. you need to find sources & be updated. for that connect with sites like healthline.com, NHS or watch professionals like Dr Khalid Jameel keto diet exerts, Dr George, and Dr. Karlos. Recently, dr khalid jameel mention the research and books of dr karlos that uric acid 5 or 6 is normal.
